Thank you East Preston Fire Station20th Oct 2011 11:39:21
Cygnets have been learning about people who help us and what better way to understand the important jobs fire fighters do, than to visit a fire station.
We were met by fire fighter Mays who showed us around the station and talked to us about being safe at home. She told us what to do in an emergency and also taught us 'Stop Drop and Roll', if your clothes catch fire this is the quickest way to put out the fire.

No one volunteered to try on Fire Fighter Mays uniform, so it was up to our teacher Miss Cove to try it on! She said, "It is incredibly heavy and quite tricky to move in."

Next we had a look around a fire engine, Fire fighter Mays told us all about the equipment they have to carry. We even climbed aboard and had a look at the equipment inside.

It was a fantastic visit ~ Thank you East Preston Fire Station and special thanks to Fire fighter Mays.
